New River Medical Center EMS

The New River Medical Center EMS vehicles have been redesigned reflecting the look of New River Medical Center. In making a decision on the new design, a committee was put together within the EMS team to come up with several drafts to include the hospital colors, logo and also be unique in design.

Over the past 25 years the New River Medical Center EMS team has evolved from a privately owned service in Big Lake to a community owned service in the 1970s. The service has moved from having basic life support to advanced life support technology. There are a total of three ambulances in the fleet, two which are always in service and are staffed with one paramedic and EMT at all times. The primary service area of New River Medical Center EMS encompasses cities of Becker, Big Lake, Monticello and parts of Otsego, with a vehicle stationed at Big Lake Fire Station in joint agreement with the City of Big Lake and another stationed in Monticello at New River Medical Center. New River Medical Center EMS team responds to approximately 2,600 calls and facility transfers each year.

New River Medical Center EMS team is involved in the safety of the community and participates in many community events throughout the year. "We really appreciate the opportunity to get out in the community and talk about safety in our community groups," says Gordon Vosberg, EMS Director at New River Medical Center. In 2008, the EMS team took part in 55 special events in the community including parades, district school visits, safety presentations, boy and girl scout events, Monticello Chamber Walk N Roll and Wright County Safe Drivers Coalition in conjunction with Wright County Sheriffs Department.
