Mammography Service Award

New River Medical Center’s Imaging Department Receives High Marks for Mammography Services

New River Medical Center’s Imaging Department recently received the highest rating from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on their Mammography Quality Standards Act Survey Inspection (MQSA). This annual inspection reviews several areas of radiology to ensure compliance with federal standards including equipment quality and performance, staff credentials, continuing experience, infection control and patient outcome processes.

For the past five years, New River Medical Center has successfully completed the inspection with the highest rating and no deficiencies. “We are very proud of our MQSA results,” said Jeanne Trullinger, New River Medical Center’s Imaging Director. “Providing the highest quality care is our priority at all times. We have a dedicated staff that is passionate about what they do and committed to creating a comfortable, yet professional, environment for our patients.”

New River Medical Center’s Imaging Department currently performs 1,500 mammograms a year. The department also assists patients with screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds, localizations and guided biopsies. “We understand that our patients often come to us during very stressful times in their lives,” explained Trullinger. “Our goal is to minimize their anxiety by providing the services they need in order to obtain quick results and reduce long wait times. Our service excellence standards support the total well-being of each patient every step of the way.”
