Committed to Delivering the Highest Quality Care: New River Medical Center’s Imaging Department Receives National Accreditation
New River Medical Center’s Imaging department has received a three- year term of accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR) for achieving high practice standards in CT services. CT, or computed tomography, uses special x-ray equipment to obtain many images from different angles around the body, creating detailed cross sectional and/or three-dimensional images of tissues and organs.
The ACR is a national organization that awards accreditation to facilities that have met quality standards as evaluated by board certified physicians and medical physicists. The survey of New River Medical Center’s Imaging department assessed several areas including the qualifications of personnel and the adequacy of equipment to determine an achievement of high quality standards in patient care.
“This accreditation has been a strategic goal for the Imaging department,” says Jeanne Trullinger, New River Medical Center’s Imaging Director. “Delivering the highest quality care to patients in our community is our top priority. Receiving this accreditation demonstrates how every member of our department is committed to ensuring exceptional care for our patients.”
