Diabetes Health Fair

New River Medical Center is hosting its annual Diabetes Health Fair for the community on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 3 – 7 p.m. at the medical center. This free event will feature blood pressure checks and glucose screenings; tips for healthy food choices; and interactive education on diabetes products, technology, resources and treatments. All are welcome to attend.

Current statistics show that more than 26,000 Minnesotans are newly diagnosed with diabetes every year. Additionally, many people living with diabetes, or prediabetes, are not aware of the steps they can take to help themselves feel better and manage their overall health. By hosting the annual Diabetes Health Fair, New River Medical Center demonstrates its commitment to helping members of our community learn how to better manage and prevent diabetes while also taking charge of their overall health. This fun and interactive events allows community members to ask questions and gather information to inspire healthier lifestyle choices.
